Although our co-founder Robert Carter is no longer with us, his contributions to the company’s growth and success remain a cornerstone of its values and direction. With his two sons Todd and Troy still actively involved in the operation of the company, we continue to honor his legacy and build on the foundation he helped establish.
In recent years, Jenna Mills, John’s daughter, has stepped into the role of CEO, bringing a fresh perspective and new vision to the company. Under her leadership, it has continued to evolve and grow, while maintaining the same foundational values that have defined us for over three decades.

John oversees the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring its continued growth and success. With a hands-on approach, he provides strategic guidance and mentorship to the team. Outside of his professional life, John cherishes spending time with his family, especially during their annual maple syrup production at their charming sugar shack.
Jenna Mills oversees all company operations at Carter Brothers.
Since graduating from Saint Mary's University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and a Human Resource Certificate, she has built a well-rounded career with the company.
Jenna's diverse experience includes roles in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Accounting Manager, and Office Manager. She has also led the Safety Department, earning her COR certification and Train-the-Trainer designation.
Outside of work Jenna enjoys vacationing with her husband and three children. She is also an avid runner and has competed in numerous marathons over the years.
Stephen Carter has been with the company for 22 years. He began his career working on cable and pole crews in the field. After completing his apprenticeship, he became a distribution construction lineman. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family.
With the company since 1994, Todd began his career in the field, setting poles, and continued in that role until June 2020, when he transitioned to managing pole crews in the Moncton and Sussex regions. In his free time, Todd enjoys riding his motorbike and spending time with his family.
With Carter Brothers since 1993, he began his career in 1986 working on pole and line crews in the field, completed his apprenticeship, and became a distribution construction lineman. He has worked on building power lines, substations, and countless storm restorations.
Today, he oversees the daily operations and growth of our hauling division.
Jake has been with the company since 2009, starting his career on cable and pole crews in the field. After successfully completing his apprenticeship, Jake was able to obtain his Distribution Construction Lineman certification. He is a dedicated member of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) Committee, where he actively contributes to promoting workplace safety. Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time with his family and playing music. An avid runner, he has completed numerous marathons over the years, demonstrating his commitment to personal fitness and perseverance.
