Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Welder/Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and welding various components and performing basic mechanical tasks on construction equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values safety, and takes pride in craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld components for a diverse fleet of vehicles and construction equipment.
  • Perform welding using FCAW, MIG, SMAW, and GMAW techniques.
  • Design and fabricate custom parts and equipment as required.
  • Test, inspect, and ensure quality and safety of welds.
  • Operate hoisting, lifting equipment, metal brakes, shears, and other fabrication tools.
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs related to fabrication tasks.
  • Install, up-fit, and remount chassis equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of welding/fabrication experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficient in FCAW, MIG, SMAW, and GMAW welding techniques.
  • Mechanical and hydraulic systems experience is an asset.
  • Welding certification or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of welding and metal fabrication safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
